Twin Lakes

Twin Lakes is a community of approximately 5,000 and is located a couple of miles north of the Wisconsin-Illinois stateline in Kenosha County. It is located on two lakes, Lake Mary (315 acres) and Lake Elizabeth (638 acres). Originally they were referred to as the Nippersink Lakes, but in 1842 were renamed Lake Mary and Lake Elizabeth in honor of the birth of twins born to the area’s first settlers. It soon became known as a resort area and still thrives today.

In 1920, the largest ballroom in Wisconsin was built by Karl Rademacher, known as the Twin Lakes Ball Room. Many famous big bands performed there, including Lawrence Welk.

Twin Lakes has golfing at nearby Nippersink Country Club for all levels to enjoy. The Aquanuts perform water ski shows on Lake Mary twice weekly from Memorial Day through Labor Day. And there is swimming, motor boating, sail boating and skiing for all. Come join the fun!
